The Ultimate Way to Experience the Cairns Aquarium

Imagine being able to hand feed Cownose Sting Rays on a privately escorted Aquarium tour!

This VIP experience offers you a fully guided tour with a Wildlife Educator through the Cairns Aquarium and also the behind-the-scenes workings, with views and explanations of the fish food preparation room, innovative plant and equipment that filters the millions of litres of water on site, coral propagation facilities and a stop at the onsite turtle hospital to see how we care for and rehabilitate sick and injured sea turtles. You will also enjoy a scatter feed to the outback river monsters and hand feed the gentle Cownose rays as well as a look at the onsite reptile breeding facility.

11:45 am – Meet your Wildlife Educator Guide in the front foyer of the Cairns Aquarium and commence an Exclusive Front and Back of House Tour

Available 11:30 am – 2:45 pm Monday – Saturday
- Children must be 12+ years to hand rays
  (souvenir gift will be substituted for children under 12)
- Wear shorts or trousers & closed toe shoes
- You will be required to kneel down when you feed the ray
- Be mindful of your noise, do not make loud noises.
- Do not touch the animals or the contents of their enclosure.
- Children are the responsibility of their parents/guardians or carer and must be supervised at all times. Children cannot attend this tour without a guardian present.
- Please tread carefully in this area, do not run in this area. There may be water present on floor.
- Lifts, escalators and accessible toilets throughout the attraction.
- If you are unable to walk onto the viewing deck for turtle hospital, you can still see the turtles in the tank through a viewing window.
- Wheelchair or Pram is accessible for Self guided walk through however not for Behind the Scene Guided Tour due to the Nature of the tour.
- Companion Cards are not accepted for this experience.
