The Cairns Aquarium is a unique and captivating venue for any celebration!

The Perfect Venue

Give your function the WOW factor with being surrounded by the spellbinding majesty of the creatures from the reef and rainforest.  Menu options include stand up cocktail style or seated all -you -can- eat buffet banquet with 2 or 3 hour beverage packages. Enhance your function with either a guided tour of the Aquarium, a guided tour of the Turtle Rehabilitation Center or add that extra special touch with a underwater diver held signage.

Birthdays, banquets, weddings, product launches, charity events, cocktail parties and more can be catered for.

There is nothing that compares to the Oceanarium Room/Deep Reef Rooms in the heart of the aquarium.

You are spoilt for choice with our unique venues, each with their own themed habitats, animals and visual backdrops that make your experience memorable.

Oceanarium & Deep Reef Rooms

For a surreal, extra-sensory dining experience, nothing compares to the magnificent 1.5 million litre Oceanarium, linked through a 20m underwater tunnel to Australia’s only 10 mere tall Deep Reef tank – this space takes Wow to a whole new level!

  • Capacity: Seated 80 guests – 40 in Oceanarium, 40 in Deep Reef. Cocktail 100 guests roaming between both rooms.

River Room

Inspired by flooded billabongs and native gum trees on the nearby Tablelands and Gulf Savannah, this event space is as enchanting and rare as the species that live there. Enjoy views of freshwater Whiptail Rays, Barramundi and Mangrove Jack in our 400,000 litre, 13 metre long “River Monsters” aquarium while you dine under the gum trees.

  • Capacity: Seated 60 guests. Cocktail 100 guests.

Dundee’s Restaurant

Dundee’s at the Cairns Aquarium offers a contemporary and innovative dining experience with its own 70,000 litre marine aquarium. The tank provides a mesmerising encounter of aquatic life, creating the backdrop for a truly unique setting. Options include sole use or terrace only.

  • Capacity: Seated 107 guests. Cocktail 150 guests.

Want to create a unique and unforgettable proposal experience like no other? Pop the question with the help from our expert divers, who will hold up a “Will You Marry Me?” sign.
